In this project I attempted to capture a variety of scenes from daily life. This was trying to display my short attention span during this project and in life in general. I would start a ton of different works and leave them incomplete or change their direction completely by the time they were complete. I decided to make this project highlight that process. I enjoyed choosing random characters to work with that gave a sense of randomness. I used quite a few techniques to create the different characters and settings. These techniques included photoshop and premiere pro to make the characters pop and the backgrounds shine. The project felt like a TV that was flipping through channels and showing very different situations from one shot to another. This replicated my mind flipping between ideas and getting distracted very easily. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with after effects and get my first exposure to animation. It forced me to respect the really advanced animation we see in media that much more. It took a high level of precision to make a simple movement occur for the characters I created. So, when people at disney make a fish swim and talk incredibly smoothly, or make a bunch of toys look like humans, it is that much more impressive to me. I think my work improved as I became more familiar with the tools and resources available to me. I aspire to make my animations smoother and more refined in the future, and plan to continue making more plot-driven animations.
